Why do I have to flush my cooling system of all coolant before I can use Hi-Gear's Permanent Block Sealer, part no. HG9039?
Hi-Gear's Permanent Block Sealer is a scientifically modified sodium
silicate (liquid glass) that is fortified with copper and formulated
specifically for the permanent repair of cracked engine blocks and
heads. Hi-Gear's Permanent Block Sealer is also ideal for permanently
sealing leaks in the radiator, heater core, freeze plugs, and other
engine components that are within the cooling system of gasoline and
diesel engines.
The
sodium silicate in Hi-Gear's Permanent Block Sealer converts to a
ceramic when it comes into contact with air. This conversion occurs
very quickly in the high heat environment of an engine. The sodium
silicate and copper flow into the crack or hole and forms a seal within
the actual crack - in essence welding the crack with a ceramic-copper
weld. The copper in the weld conducts heat across the crack or hole
eliminating the normal hot spots that form on either side of a crack or
around a hole.
Hi-Gear's Permanent Block Sealer can be
used in all engine and cooling system types cast iron, cast aluminum,
steel, copper, bronze, and even plastic.
However,
Hi-Gear's Permanent Block Sealer cannot be used in the presence of any
glycol based product. The reason is that sodium silicate jells in the
presence of glycol. This jell will completely stop the flow of coolant
in the cooling system and cause the engine to overheat. Once this
occurs, the radiator and heater cores must be cleaned to remove the
jell-like material, plus the entire cooling system needs to be flushed
by a professional.
I
have a heavy duty truck with a diesel engine and water filter. Will
Hi-Gear's Permanent Block Sealer, part no. HG9039 stop-up my water
filter? Yes. You need to remove the water filter. Hi-Gear's
Permanent Block Sealer is ideal for permanently repairing leaks diesel
or gasoline engines, but the water filter must be removed.
How does "ENGINE TUNE-UP" work?
In engines with high and medium-high mileage, even premium oil looses
its essential additives before the normal oil change period. When the
additives are expended, the overall effectiveness, in removing water
and harmful deposits as well as maintaining supple seals, of the oil is
significantly reduced.
The
use of Hi-Gear ENGINE TUNE-UP restores the additives and prolongs the
service life of the oil preventing excessive wear and preventing oil
leaks from hardened seals. Hi-Gear ENGINE TUNE-UP also helps reduce
harmful emissions thereby aiding in the passing of annual emission
tests.
What is "LEAKS NO MORE" ?
Seals and gaskets seal by gripping the surface of the adjacent surface.
This gripping capability is achieved through the suppleness
(elasticity) of the seal or gasket.
When
seals and gaskets are no longer supple, varnish, gum, wear particles
and sediment start to form on the seal or gasket face. As wear
particles and sediment build-up, the seal or gasket becomes hard like
the face of a rock and no longer grips the surface of the adjacent
surface permitting a leak to occur.
Hi-Gear LEAKS NO MORE
is formulated to clean the varnish, gum, wear particles, and sediment
from the face of the seal. Hi-Gear LEAKS NO MORE also contains special
chemicals that are absorbed by the seals and gasket restoring their
suppleness.
When Hi-Gear LEAKS NO MORE is used every six months, the seals and gaskets suppleness is maintained and oil leaks are prevented.
